California’s food allergen labeling law to hit menus July 1

By John Herlihy, PhD

California’s new food allergen labeling law takes effect July 1, making it the first state to require qualifying chain food establishments to disclose major food allergens on menus or through digital formats. This AgencyIQ analysis examines the law’s requirements, implementation considerations and what it could signal for future food allergen policy.
