Maryland governor signs bill focused on PFAS discharges in wastewater

On May 9, 2024, Maryland Governor WES MOORE approved the Protecting State Waters From PFAS Pollution Act. The bill will set a variety of timelines for state regulators to identify industrial uses of PFAS and develop action levels for PFAS in state waters by mid-2025.

Per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) are a class of synthetic organic chemicals used in many different industrial and commercial applications.
