How is ECHA regulated today?
- Title X of the Regulation on the Registration, Evaluation, Authorization and Restriction of Chemicals ( REACH – 1907/2006/EC) established the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) and defines its operations, roles, and responsibilities. The agency is charged with managing significant sections of the EU’s main horizontal chemicals control legislation pursuant to REACH. The agency provides scientific and technical expertise as well as administrative support for all aspects of the regulation (e.g., in support of implementing the registration, evaluation, authorization, and restriction of chemicals).
