The Environmental Protection Agency has published a white paper on the quantitative human health approach to inform the Risk Evaluation for Asbestos, Part 2. The white paper describes the systematic review, includes an evaluation and comparison of existing cancer inhalation unit risks (IUR) and the non-cancer point of departure (POD), as well as a proposal for a cancer IUR and non-cancer POD for use in the risk evaluation for asbestos part 2. EPA also provides specific questions, the responses to which will be considered along with comments by peer reviewers to help inform the risk evaluation.
